WaveIP brings OFDM
to the 700 MHz band.
Nov, 14th
WaveIP, launched
its GigAccess™ OFDM 700
product line, the only OFDM system designed specifically for
the low 700 MHz band.
Operating in the
licensed 698 – 746MHz band GigAccess™ OFDM 700 couples
high penetration capabilities with OFDM NLOS performance,
leading the way to self-install, indoor only wireless
broadband. GigAccess OFDM 700 Could serve up to 2000
Subscribers delivering 56 Mbps with a single Base Station.
GigAccess™ OFDM
700 features self-install Indoor Residential Subscriber Units
(RSU), Outdoor Subscriber Unit (OSU), as well as High End
Subscriber Unit (HSU) and Base Stations. GigAccess™ OFDM
Network Management Software (NMS) forms one point of
management allowing the service provider to configure and
monitor its entire network remotely. An Integrated QoS
mechanism offers real time Service License Agreement (SLA)
enforcement, bandwidth throttling and packet classification.
“When it comes
to coverage and throughput GigAccess™ OFDM sets a new bar”
says Ran Nachmany, U.S marketing director. “Although WiMAX
does not have a profile for 700MHz band, GigAccess OFDM
implements the 802.16 Mac layer to bring WiMAX capabilities to
the sub 2GHz bands as well. CPE below $400 breaks economic
barriers, leading to shorter ROI and lower total cost of
ownership”.
