Ditch the Switch: The Xirrus Wi-Fi Array is the
Only Wi-Fi Solution That is Effectively
Displacing Ethernet Workgroup Switches
Xirrus, Inc., the only Wi-Fi "Power-Play”,
announces a switch replacement credit program to
allow IT managers to replace Ethernet workgroup
switches with Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays as the primary
network connection. Wi-Fi Access Points can only
be deployed as an overlay or augmentation to the
wired network, while only Wi-Fi Arrays can be
deployed as a direct replacement for wired edge
switches.
"We needed a Wi-Fi solution powerful enough
to deliver the same performance and security as
a wired switch, yet did not require a sea of
Access Points and cables strewn throughout our
facilities," said Brian Haffey, Associate
Principal at OZ Architecture. "We tested the
Xirrus Wi-Fi Array and found it to be the only
Wi-Fi solution capable of delivering the
necessary bandwidth to replace the wired
switches—and do it
with far fewer devices and cables."
The Xirrus Wi-Fi platform provides unmatched
radio density with 4, 8, or 16 802.11a/b/g/n
radios integrated into a single chassis, along
with the Wi-Fi controller and switch. Xirrus
Wi-Fi Arrays are more flexible, can connect more
devices, and consume far less power than wired
Ethernet switches—while
providing the same networking, management,
security, quality-of-service, and resiliency at
nearly one-half the total cost per user.
“We are at the
defining moment in the networking industry as
Wi-Fi becomes the primary connection,”
said Dirk Gates CEO and Founder of Xirrus.
“Leading enterprises
are retooling their budgets in favor of higher
capacity, higher density wireless networks. The
Xirrus Wi-Fi Array is the only platform that was
designed for the success of Wi-Fi in the
enterprise.”
