Nokia Siemens Networks
strengthens Telkomsel relationship with Frame Contract
for Core Softswitch Network expansion and upgrade
Nokia Siemens Networks will modernize Telkomsel’s
network to Release 4 architecture with its MSC Server
System mobile softswitch solution, which helps the
Indonesian operator reduce operating expenses while
expanding communications services
Nokia Siemens Networks has been
selected to modernize the existing core networks for
Telkomsel, the biggest mobile services provider in
Indonesia. Under the three-year frame work agreement,
Nokia Siemens Networks will deploy the latest generation
softswitch in across Indonesia.
This is one of the biggest softswitch network
modernizations in Asia Pacific, and includes network
planning, implementation as well as consulting and
system Integration scope of works.
This solution will help Telkomsel evolve seamlessly to
an All IP architecture and enable the operator to offer
new innovative services such as Voice over IP to their
users. The network expansion will increase Telkomsel’s
network capacity and grow the current delivery of
telecommunications services of 52 million subscribers.
Additionally, the new solution lets Telkomsel simplify
its network architecture, thus lowering operating costs
while increasing the efficacy of providing voice and
data applications.
A project management team has been tasked to help
Telkomsel effectively overcome commercial, operational
and technical challenges. Network implementation,
consulting and systems integration help optimize
spending, allowing Telkomsel to be focused on its core
business whilst building and expanding its network.
