ADNSL Deploys SkyPilot for
Broadband Wireless in Bangladesh
Advanced Data Networks System Limited has deployed
SkyPilot’s equipment to
provide broadband wireless services within the
metropolitan area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The network
provides Internet access services to both
‘last-mile’
fixed locations and portable Wi-Fi devices.
ADN is one of the leading companies in Bangladesh
providing seamless and secured connectivity using fiber,
satellite and wireless solutions. ADN is the prime
service provider for domestic and international
connectivity services and solutions duly authorized by
the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
The ADN wireless Internet service is branded as
“ADN Wi-Fi+”
and principally serves small- to medium-sized businesses
in multiple regions around Dhaka. ADN Wi-Fi+ also
services several residential areas as well as
universities and hotels.
“SkyPilot’s
equipment has allowed us to build a broadband wireless
network that serves the needs of a broad customer base,”
said Asif Mahmood, chairman of ADN.
“In addition, since SkyPilot was so easy to
deploy, we were about to leverage our first-mover
advantage to market an affordable high-speed wireless
Internet service in Bangladesh. Our customers can now
get hassle-free broadband Internet at their business, in
their home, and in areas in-between.”
ADN utilizes a combination of SkyGateways and
SkyExtenders to backhaul their broadband wireless
networks, SkyExtender DualBands to provide Wi-Fi
HotSpots, and SkyConnectors to provide the customer
premise equipment (CPE) to last-mile subscribers.
“At SkyPilot, we’re
focused on providing solutions to Internet services
providers (ISPs) seeking to move from dial-up to
broadband but without requiring the recurring monthly
costs of DSL or leased lines,”
said Gordon Wilcox, sales director for Asia Pacific at
SkyPilot. “By leveraging a
common platform, SkyPilot can help wireless ISPs build
flexible, long-range solutions that offer high-quality
services.”
