T-Mobile International
and ASUS agree on strategic cooperation
In the future, two innovation drivers will deliver even
greater convenience in the world of mobile Internet.
T-Mobile International and ASUS, a
world-leading provider of computers, communications and
consumer electronics (3C), have agreed on a strategic
partnership. Under the terms of the collaboration, the
partners plan to bring to market highly attractive
all-in-one packages comprising ASUS notebooks,
high-speed mobile technology and attractively priced
rate options. All offers are designed to provide an
outstanding customer experience.
User-friendly, high-speed, wireless – ASUS EeePC and
T-Mobile HotSpot
T-Mobile and ASUS set new standards with the very first
package that marked rollout in the German market at the
end of March 2008. With the innovative EeePC 4G
pioneering the first of a new generation of mobile
Internet devices and 300 free WLAN hours at
T-Mobile HotSpots
included, users will enjoy mobile Internet at top speeds
for as little as EUR 299. There are more than 8,000
HotSpot locations in Germany alone – in hotels,
restaurants, airports, stations and high-speed ICE
trains.
In the course of the next few weeks, T-Mobile and ASUS
will be offering further EeePC packages for mobile
Internet. They will contain HSDPA/UMTS-enabled USB flash
drives as well as options for pre- and postpaid
customers. In Austria, the basic intuitive data device,
which requires no PC skills, will also be available with
HSDPA/UMTS from T-Mobile in the near
future. Weighing in at just 920 grams and dimensioned
like an A5 notebook with a 7-inch display, the EeePC is
the perfect fit for excellent, mobile Internet access.
“Anyone who opts to buy an ASUS EeePC wants first and
foremost a compact, easy-to-use device for fast, easy,
mobile Internet access,” explains Eric Chen, General
Manager Europe and CEO of ASUS Deutschland. “The
T-Mobile HotSpot
bundle enables EeePC users to surf the Internet for one
hour almost every day of the year at HotSpots from
T-Mobile throughout Germany - wireless at any
T-Mobile
HotSpot in Germany. We anticipate that this cooperation
will help us to address a new target group for the EeePC.”
Michael Wilkens, Executive Vice President Sales Channel
Development T-Mobile International, adds:
“For mobile internet, an attractive mobile device like
EeePC together with mobile broadband connectivity from
T-Mobile networks is perfect for surfing
the Net, chatting and sending e-mails. We also expect it
to attract business customers who are looking for a
second device. We are glad to see ASUS and
T-Mobile setting new standards with this
customer-oriented package.”
