WIND Hellas Selects NetCracker for Infrastructure Transformation and Rapid Service Introduction

NetCracker Technology announced that WIND Hellas Telecommunications S.A. has selected the companys OSS suite as a key element in its transformation initiative to achieve network operational excellence. NetCrackers suite of pre-integrated software modules, automated workflows, and solution delivery expertise will enable WIND Hellas to consolidate its network operations and accelerate its wireless infrastructure evolution.

WIND Hellas, formerly known as TIM Hellas Telecommunications S.A., has been providing mobile telecommunications services in Greece since June 1993. The company offers network access and value-added services in the GSM 900 MHz, DCS 1800 MHz, and UMTS MHz bands. WIND Hellas focuses on innovation and quality, and offers pre-paid and post-paid services for multiple markets.

WIND Hellas will implement NetCrackers Service Inventory, Resource Inventory, Discovery & Reconciliation, Design & Planning, and Outside Plant modules, all integrated into the NetCracker Framework. This solution provides the ability to manage converged services and offers a comprehensive set of device and service models to create a future-proof mobile carrier environment.

NetCrackers solution will manage the core network (including 3G and IP switches), the transport network (including fiber, microwave, and UMTS networks), and the radio access network (including GSM/GPRS and UMTS). The solution will also manage value-added services including MMS, video streaming, and BlackBerry. Finally, it will manage non-telecom inventory such as power systems.

Automated business processes and workflows will include site rollout, network optimization, service design and development, node planning and implementation, capacity expansion, leased line ordering, international roaming, and interconnection management.

WIND Hellas has an exciting vision based on innovation and speed, said Andrew Feinberg, President and CEO of NetCracker Technology. NetCrackers ability to transform the Service Layer will be the foundation for realizing that vision. We are very pleased that WIND Hellas has selected NetCracker and look forward to building a successful partnership.
